3 Steps To Take In Life That Guarantee Success

Welcome To The Dose Blog!

May God Richly Bless You Today!

As I was studying the other night and also going through a little bit of a "rough patch" in life i realized something and i wanted to find something in God's word that reminded me of what steps to take. If you think about it, what is the one thing that all people want in life? Whether you are 55 or 15, we all have the same goal in mind. Granted it may look different to different people, we still want this one thing. In our jobs, marriages, school, our spiritual lives, our ministries. We all want this: Can you name? If you said success then you are right! You have to admit that in life you want to be successful. I hope to give you 3 things today that will hopefully help you go farther or even get you out of a "life rut".

Lets look at one of my favorite verses.. Psalm 1:1-3

1 1 1 Oh, the joys of those who do not

follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
2 2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
3 3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.

I like to use this passage of scripture a good bit because it reminds me of a few things, and I can always use them in my life and what a difference it can make if we apply these things.

1. Watch Your Surroundings.

The first action or step to take is making life more successful is to watch your surroundings. What i mean by this is to watch the people that you hang out with a regular basis, the ones you call your friends or your accountability. You have probably heard it said " show me your friends and i will show you your future. It is so true to, what you hang around you will become so take a good look at the people you are with everyday and see if they live the successful lifestyle that you want to live. Even the Bible says bad company ruins good morals (1 cor 15:33). Psalm 1 says that happy is the one who doesn't follow the advise of the wicked- wicked is anyone who is morally wrong. We think of witches and things of that nature when we think of wicked but by definition it means anything that is wrong. Also is says who doesn't "stand around" with sinners. This is probably a very touchy subject right now but it says not to hang around people who are constantly sinning. The next part of this verse writes or join in with mockers. Almost every hollywood movie that you see that is rated PG-13 is going to either have God-D*** or Jesus ****** Christ just so they can make it known that they are mocking God or making fun of Jesus. If this doesn't offend you then something is wrong, something needs to rise up within you. What you feed yourself will grow without a doubt.

2. Read and Obey The Word.

Verses 2 writes that the ones who watch who they are walking with, also their delight or what they take pleasure in is the law of the Lord or the Word of God. We are to meditate on it day and night. To think about it when we rise and when we lay our head to rest. Most of us need to get un-busy in this fast pace world in order to focus on and think about what the Word is actually saying. Verse 3 promises that is you do these 2 things that you will be like a tree planted by the water. A

tree planted close to a body of water is strong and steadfast because it is always close to the source in which it gets what it needs to be strong and fruitful. We as Christians should be no different, close to our source. Our source is the Word and the relationship of Jesus Christ, also our relationship with the bride of Christ (the church). The last part of the verse says and they prosper in whatever they do. We all want success and this promises if we keep the important things first and stay close to the living source we are guaranteed to prosper.

Lets look at one more verse in Joshua 1:8

8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

Joshua is saying to study this Word constantly and think about it and what is means always, and OBEY everything in it and then you will prosper in everything you do.

3. Live Holy.

1 Peter 1:13-16 says:

13 So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. 14 So you must live as God's obedient children. Don't slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn't know any better then. 15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 16 For the Scriptures say, "You must be holy because I am holy."[a]

What this speaks to me is that we must have self-control and live obedient to God and to His Holy Word. Meaning we can't just go around sinning all the time. I recall a scripture that says don't use your freedom to keep on sinning. Grace give you the power over sin. We must live a holy life for the scripture says "be holy, for i am holy" Jesus left this example for us. He told us to live a holy and blameless life, not a sinful and Gods grace will cover all of it so i have nothing to worry about life.

I pray this blesses you and helps you today! God Bless you and your family,
