3 Steps To Connect To God

Welcome to The Dose blog. I hope today is going well for you as you are reading this. PTL! Thanks for joining me today. I am praying i can give you 3 keys or steps that can take your relationship with the Lord to the next level. Let's start out by looking at some verses in the book of John in chapter 15.

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. John 15:5-6.

1. Get connected to the vine- In verse 5 Jesus is talking and saying that He is the true vine, He is the one that you get your resources from, He is the well that never runs dry. Are you feeling dry? Always down? That means your soul is thirsty for something more. He says to come to Him as the vine, come to Him like He is the source that your love, joy, peace, purpose, and fulfillment comes from. Let it be that instead of "looking for love in all the wrong places" find all you need in Him, the all in all.
the word connect means to join or fasten together, to place or establish in relationship, to establish a communications. So we must establish a relationship with Jesus Christ. That means to daily communicate with Him, God Jehova is different from any other god because He communicates with His children and worshipers with communication through the Holy Spirit. He communicates with us and gives us that same ability with prayer and worship. 2. Abide in Him- to abide means to continue to be present and not depart. Think about this: it means to always be present, we get so caught up in what's going on with our day that we forget to be present with what is on the Lord's mind and what is on His heart. Starting today and through everyday, allow your mind to be "present with what is going on in heaven, what he Holy Spirit is speaking to us and also listening and taking heed to what is being said. Stay tuned in to the voice of God. Get all the other voices out and remain listening to the shepherds voice, He knows whats best. Remember "who better to listen to, than the one who made you?"

3. Delight in the Word- Lets take a look at Psalm 1, one of my favorite chapters.

Blessed is the onewho does not walk in step with the wickedor stand in the way that sinners takeor sit in the company of mockers,but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,and who meditates on his law day and night.That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,which yields its fruit in seasonand whose leaf does not wither-whatever they do prospers. Psalm 1:1-3I love what Steven Furtick has said before. "We live in a generation where it is so easy to find information, but so hard to find the truth."That is so true, we are drowning with info we can search for anything and find out at least 3 thing about what we searched for in less than 5 minutes, but it's really hard to find the truth.. the reason being is we don't know the truth. The bible says the truth shall set you free, there is a freedom in knowing the truth. One thing is for sure is it will always stand when nothing else will, you can always stand on it no matter the time or season. The person that does this will always yield fruit, will never run try because he/she is planted close to the vine.
